3.02.5 Copy Existing Pages and Notebooks

LabArchives offers four ways to copy pre-existing content. These are Copy from Existing Page, Copy from Another Notebook, and Copy To Another Notebook and Copy Entry. Copy from Existing Page, Copy from Another Notebook, and Copy To Another Notebook can be accessed by clicking “+New” or by right clicking on any page or folder. Copy Existing Page The Copy from another notebook feature allows you to copy content from other notebooks into the notebook you are currently working on. While viewing the notebook you want to copy into, click “+ New” and select “Copy from another notebook.”

If you do not need to copy a whole folder or page, you have the ability to copy a single entry on a page. To do this, hover over the entry you want to copy. You should see menu options for this entry. Click the triple dot menu then select ‘Copy’.
After you click ‘Copy’, a ‘How to paste your entry’ window will pop up. This window provides instructions on how to add your copied entry to any selected page. Select ‘OK’. Note: You can click the ‘Don’t show me this message again’ check box if you do not want to see these instructions anymore.
There are two ways to add your copied entry to a selected page. Once you are on the page where you want to add your copied entry, you can click the ‘+New’ button at the top right of the page. Click ‘Copied Entry’ and your copied entry will be added to the page. You can also add your copied entry using our insert flag. Hover between two entries (where you would like to place the copied entry), you should see the insert flag. Click between the two entries and then click ‘More’, then click ‘Copied Entry’. Your copied entry will then be added to the page. Copy Restrictions If you are copying more than 100 entries, you may see a warning message like the one below. Your institution may prevent you from copying material from a notebook you do not own. The Notebook Owner can also prevent users from copying data into a notebook that they do not own.
